Natasha's story
After obtaining her master's degree in 2015 and becoming a licensed and clinical occupational therapist, Natasha began her career working in the medical field with adults and children with a variety of medical conditions and disabilities, including acute and chronic disorders.
She earned advanced certifications in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT techniques), stroke rehabilitation, physical agent modalities, myofacial release, and Tai-chi for rehabilitation, specializing in neurological rehabilitation (with emphasis on stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury), as well as auto-immune disorders, cardiac, pulmonary, and orthopedic recovery (to name a few).
Natasha began practicing yoga in her early 20s. After becoming an occupational therapist, she made the decision to delve more deeply into her yoga practice to become a yoga teacher. She relocated to Bali, Indonesia, for 6 weeks, and joined a Yoga Works yoga teacher training program to become a certified yoga instructor, with her training based in the Iyengar tradition. Living in Bali and experiencing a culture that was vastly different to western society, and going into the deeper physical and philosophical practices of yoga, completely changed her perspective on life. She knew that this would become a path that she would continue on, both for herself, and with the purpose of assisting and guiding others, as well. She has since worked with countless patients and private clients within the medical and yoga communities.
Natasha has now worked for years in the medical field and has taught at yoga studios, working with a variety of private clients and patients and specializing in all areas, from working with athletes to working with individuals recovering from various injuries and disabilities. She also received an advanced certification in Yin Yoga, in 2019.
With the onset of COVID 19 and after working with thousands of clients and patients on a one-on-one basis, Natasha began to shift her focus, and her passion became to work more intentionally with clients. She designed an intensive online-based yoga and wellness program, and founded Mind Fit Wellness. Through this program, she has put her heart and soul into committing to working with clients on a one-on-one basis, with the goal of assisting them to build a foundational yoga and lifestyle practice in order to guide their wellness to optimal quality of life and disease and injury prevention.
As of December, 2020, Natasha has also received her Level 1 foundational Ayurvedic Wellness Counseling certification and is working towards becoming an advanced, clinically certified, Ayurvedic wellness counselor. Her goal is to incorporate this ancient, medicinal, holistic approach to dietary and herbal wellness into her work with her clients. Natasha continues to guide, teach, learn, and inspire others with her combination of a pragmatic, creative, and artistic approach to yoga, mindfulness, and recovery.
